“Following an intense week of races at the Australian Optimist Championship held earlier this January, the selections for the sailors who will represent Australia at the 2024 Optimist European Championship have been finalized.
The talented sailors making up Team Australia are: AWalter Heeley, Ashlea Tan, Harper Spacey and Will Rogers.
These young athletes are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to meet and compete with international teams from around the world. Representing Australia on this prestigious stage is a significant honor.
Team Australia extends their heartfelt thanks to the hosts—the International Optimist Dinghy Association (IODA), Club Nautico Marina di Carrara and Associazione Italiana Classe Optimist for organizing the event.
The team is excited to sail their best, forge new friendships, and connect with everyone at the championship.
